The social media giant Facebook is all set to take on the Google’s YouTube by enhancing its ever-growing video rendering capabilities on its website. Facebook is reportedly testing a huge array of features, which are especially targeted to make the watching of videos a more enjoyable affair on the Facebook website. The sudden surge in the number of video tools on the website will help users in watching videos in a more interactive and enjoyable manner than before and it has the potential to give stiff challenge to the YouTube.

A dedicated section for videos on Facebook

It is going to bring a dedicated section for the videos wherein users can watch videos posted or shared by their friends, pages followed by others and others. Face book is also looking forward to bring in a dedicated panel for the video publishers in order to bring more video content on the website without the reliance on the popular video hosting websites videos shares.

A new video section will allow users to put together their saved videos for later viewing purposes. This new feature will soon debut on the website wherein users can simply give a click on the save button near the videos to watch them later. Face book had stated that it is testing the features initially with a fairly smaller number of people and users can access the videos section by clicking on the video icon placed at the bottom of the Facebook app and on the website it can be found in the Favorites section.

Will Cathcart the vice president of the product management at Face book ahs revealed that video is growing at a rapid pace on the website. The video consumption has seen a remarkable surge in the recent past, which has prompted it to make some necessary integration of video oriented features ion the website. It should be understood that discovering the happening around the world, watching and sharing the videos is becoming an integral part for the Facebook users on a daily basis.

Facebook users has to wait longer for new video features

Facebook is performing extensive testing on the video features with a small group of people on the android, iOS and web platforms. For the iPhone Face book will be bringing a special feature which will allow the users to see a row of related snippets after watching any clip in the News Feed. Another feature worth mentionable is the introduction of the watching videos in a floating box right on the screen while multitasking on the Facebook.

Face book has also begun testing its new video technology with a bunch of partners with an aim of providing a comprehensive video management system for the publishers or video creators. New video tools for Pages will include the vital updates in the Page Insights, improvements in the video uploads among others which will help the publishers in growing their business on Facebook.
